hop on baby, let’s catch a flight
Hi, I’m Janice.
I look at flights on the reg for fun (especially ones I can’t afford) and usually immediately after, become bummed that I can’t go on a trip to Tahiti that instant. Rough. Life.
On Cruisin with Jan, I focus mainly on traveling as cheap as possible with the occasional splurge. I am a frequent visitor of Skyscanner and constantly daydream about places I could experience. Anywhere from a quick camping trip to clear your head or to a week get away in Tulum.
I am extremely passionate, empathetic, and painfully extroverted. I am not the standard woman you might commonly see pictured on your social media platforms. I am a first generation, Asian American woman who’s family has chased and achieved the “American Dream”. While growing up in a small community within a rural area with little diversity, I existed in an invisible space. It narrowed my knowledge of what I could be capable of doing and becoming. I felt out of place perhaps everywhere I went, a loss of identity within my Korean culture and desire to be American.
My goal is to provide a platform and a voice for women of color that may not feel empowered to go out and explore the world. I will work to be as transparent as possible about my travels and to create a safe space for conversation regarding tough topics and uncomfortable situations I encounter.
My ultimate goal with this blog is to be able to show you the beauty life has to offer without feeling financially confined, to challenge societal views, to provide direction for people who are just getting started and to genuinely make a positive impact socially and environmentally.
I want you to see the world in all of the realness it is.
If you are a constant dreamer, Mother Earth lover and addicted to the thrill of travel, I’m glad you’re here.
Hope y’all are ready to explore with me.
xx janice
